MEET RACQUEL

Racquel Saddler is a lifelong advocate for the community and a seasoned public policy professional who believes government should work for the people it serves. She is running for Albany County Legislature because she knows that when systems fail to meet people where they are, the consequences are real and lasting.
Racquel has spent her career working alongside lawmakers, advocates, and community organizations to tackle issues like housing instability, mental health access, child welfare, public safety, and economic opportunity. Her work has taken her behind the scenes of government, where she has helped shape policy, analyze budgets, and elevate the voices of people who too often go unheard.

Racquel believes leadership starts with listening. As County Legislator, she will prioritize open communication with residents, collaborative problem-solving, and policies that lead to real, measurable improvements in people’s lives. Her focus is on building stable neighborhoods, expanding access to mental health care, and making county government a true partner to the community.
Racquel lives in downtown Albany with her dog Jambi, and is deeply committed to the people and neighborhoods she calls home. She is running to bring thoughtful, hands-on leadership to county government and to help ensure Albany County is a place where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
"I’m running to tackle the issues that show up in everyday life in the Sixth, from public safety and mental health to housing stability and overall quality of life. That means listening first, showing up consistently, and turning community concerns into practical solutions that make our streets safer, our families stronger, and our neighborhoods places people are proud to call home."
